Opening Up

The "Man Upstairs" has a very interesting way of implementing people in your life at the right time. Last week, we got a substitute teacher in our room. We started conversing and clicked! He is a few years older than me but we think along the same path. It's hard to meet people with like mind but when you do, there is an instant respect and familiarity that blossoms from it. We were throwing our life stories and future goals at each other and finding a lot of similarities in them.

This goes to show you that sharing your passion can lead to building critical relationships. When someone is passionate and genuine about a cause or idea, it exudes through their pores. And more importantly, you can see it through their actions. Hopefully one day we will cross paths again and turn our passion for uplifting the youth into something that can change lives. We shall see!

Between the Lines: Start Something That Matters

If you don't already know, I love to read! The crazy thing is that it wasn't always like that. I guess the older I realized the limitless possibilities that exited in books and words. It's amazing where your imagination can go and how much you can learn by picking up a book or reading or reading an article.

Anyway, from now on when I finish a good book I'm going to do a book review for it. The first one is called, Start Something That Matters by Blake Mycoskie. Just in case you didn't know (because I definitely didn't) Blake is the Chief Shoe Giver at the awe-inspiring company TOMS Shoes. Check out the video for the full review.
