What to Do?

The last month that I have been here has been hectic to say the least. Our school is being turned into a Promise Academy and to add insult to injury, the kids are not helping us prove to them that they are making a bad decision. I really don't think they understand the ramifications of what's about to happen next year. There will be almost no familiar faces, brand new rules, and other nuances that will be a shock to them.

The teachers on the other hand face a number of challenges also. They ALL will have to reapply and interview to stay at the current school with only up to about 50% of the staff being kept by the new administration. With the district anticipating steep budget cuts next school year, the teachers chances of being cut are even higher.

The crazy thing is that most (if not all) of these people depend solely on this job for their lively hood. They don't know how to do anything else but teach. So what happens when someone comes in and puts your way of living in jeopardy? What do you do?

I think this is where your determination, creativity, and perseverance comes in to play. They might have to exercise they're ingenuity and try something new if the original plan may not work. What would you do? Leave a comment and let me know.
