Knowledge is Money

These are a few years old but still hold true today. Robert Kiyosaki goes through how the rich are participating in the biggest heist in history through financial knowledge.

And this is how I will make moves. Oh the power of real estate!

My Classroom

Okay, so it's been about a week since I last told you about my venture to create a class. So far so good. I sat down and created an outline (which I'm adding to daily) of things that I need to learn and study. This might sound crazy but I also give myself homework and take notes on what I read. I know I'm a geek but it's the only way the learning process is going to move forward right now. I'm working on looking for other classes I might be able to take but for now it works. And I'm excited about it.

The only other thing I have to do is create a hands-on approach to test the information that I'm getting out of the books (directly applying what I learned to real world situations). Once I figure that out, the rest will be history. Then the only things left standing in my way is time and opportunity.

To all my entrepreneurs out there who have these amazing ideas or want to learn a new skill, DO IT! There's nothing better than setting a goal to learn or do something and being able to cross it off of your list. Sometimes we spend a lot of time waiting for someone else to teach us but we have to show the initiative first. It took me a while to realize that while I was looking for a mentor. I'm still searching for one but at least when I find them, they won't have a blank canvas.

As always keep creating, innovating and accomplishing your ideas. The world needs you!

Update

So people...It's been about a month so let me catch you up.

1. I completed my year of service with Americorps. It was one of the best  experiences of my life. I learned so much about myself and what I wanted to do with my career path, as it pertains to my entrepreneurial path. I met a lot of great people and built amazing relationships.

2. I used some of my connections and got a summer and winter job that will hopefully get me on my feet. It's a start and I'm definitely blessed.

3. Now I'm figuring out what the next step in the process is.

I'm at the point now where I have been researching and reading everything I can get my hands on. Now I have CREATE and EXECUTE a plan that I can use and revamp when I need to. I have been looking for classes to take on real estate investing and found a few. Right now though, I really don't have the funds for those classes. So, for the next couple of days, I'm going to take the information and resources that I already have and create my own class. I'm going to create a schedule, class topics, homework and tests. It's going to take some work but it's better than sitting and doing nothing. It will also help me discipline myself. I'll come back in a few days and let you know how that process is going. Peace!

Searching for Clarity

My mind is running at 100 mph right now. My term is about to come to an end. I have no clue what is about to happen in the next couple of weeks. There are so many ideas that I have running through my mind about what I WANT to do, but nothing is happening. I can't focus on any one thing. I need so clarity. ASAP!!

Spotlight YBE: Diva of All Trades

When you think of the epitome of a great woman, what comes to mind? Intelligent, sophisticated, driven and beautiful of course. What about poet, recording artist, radio show host, painter, and actress? Amanda Diva fits ALL of these traits. She has been on the scene for years, since her start on the hit Nickelodeon sitcom, "My Brother and Me." Ms. Diva has been all over the world, giving interviews to hip-hop elite and hosting a plethora of events including the infamous Roots Picnic in Philadelphia. She also guest hosted the Global Fusion Festival last summer. I volunteered for that festival but did not get the privilege to meet her. But from what I could see, she was very down to earth and approachable. And beautiful of course!

She is the quintessential renaissance woman, "Jack of All Trades," and entrepreneur in her own right. She's an  amazing influence on young black entrepreneurs to go out and hustle for what you want out of life. This woman is just flat out great, but when it comes to people like her, I just let their work speak for itself. Check it out!

Here's a little bit from her art collection. Ladies, she does bags too!!

This song is a little old but I love it. "Brand New." Download the new FREEP, MADAME MONOCHROME

And something from her comedic side. She does it all folks!

Leadership Conference

I'm kind of late on this but it's Inc.'s Leadership Conference. It sounds like a really good opportunity for business owners to network and receive some great information. Check the leadership link for more info.
